The Brackets text editor, a “modern, open source text editor that understands web design,” is reaching its end of life, and will no longer be supported by Adobe. However, the life of the project, to whatever extent possible, may continue on the original GitHub page, which will remain open.
What is Happening?
The Brackets text editor is reaching end-of-life, and will no longer be supported by Adobe.
Who Is Affected?
Anyone using Brackets will be affected. New releases and updates will no longer appear for this editor — other than those that may be provided by volunteer users.
If you are a developer who wishes to continue supporting the project, you can do so on the GitHub page, which will remain in service indefinitely.
Best Course Of Action
Adobe, and any other maintainers of the project, advise users to transition over to Microsoft Visual Studio Code (VSC).
VSC includes code highlighting, auto-completion, syntax coloring, and Git integrations. In addition to these features, there are also special extensions for Brackets users.
