…or Fix It On Your Own
If you aren’t interested in using this service, here’s how you can try to fix the problem on your own.
Make sure that you have configured the default “admin email notification”. You can do this by clicking on the “Emails & Actions” (#1) tab at the top of the form builder screen. You will then click “Admin Email” (#2).
In the “To” field (#3), place a comma beside the “{wp:admin_email}” text and then put your email. As you can see in the example, I put in my email address. Once complete, hit the “Done” button in the upper right corner. Once you’ve completed this, test it out and see if you receive an email.
If you still aren’t getting an email, it may be because your email server is not sending a message due to the subject line or email message being blank. If you suspect this is the case, fill out the form completely and test it to see if this fixes the problem.
Spam Filters
When you set up WordPress, you entered your name and email address into the admin information so that your host could use this to identify your account. If you change the “From Name” and “From Address” settings in Ninja Forms to something other than the original information in your admin info, the sending mail service may block the message as it looks like spam.
This can happen when you change the sending email address to something outside of your domain, such as a Gmail address. This sets red flags with the spam filters and can block these emails. Ninja Forms will usually send the information to the host, who sends it out to whatever email address is set for that specific form. We recommend not changing these settings unless your web hosting company recommends it.
If you are having trouble with Ninja Forms not sending email, then you shouldn’t fret. Chances are, your issue is caused by a minor setting that can be resolved quickly. By trying the tips as outlined, you should be receiving your emails from Ninja Forms without any issues.
