How did you get started in the web hosting field?
My journey in the web hosting industry began with InMotion Hosting (IMH).
Before joining IMH, I worked for an online company that sold swimming pool supplies. I then took a break for a few years to focus on raising my children.
When I decided to re-enter the workforce, I started at IMH in an entry-level role within the InMotion Websites department. After a year, I transitioned to the BoldGrid team, where I have remained ever since.
What is your current role at InMotion Hosting? What do you like most about it?
My primary responsibilities are Quality Assurance (QA) for BoldGrid themes and plugins, along with the creation of fresh designs for the BoldGrid system. I also lend my QA expertise to other company products as needed, such as InMotion Central. Recently I played a significant role in migrating inmotionhosting.com to WordPress, and I continue to QA updates made to the site. Currently, my main focus revolves around ensuring that all websites I work on adhere to ADA accessibility standards.
One of the reasons I enjoy my job is the constant variety it offers. Each day presents a unique set of experiences as I work with different people and departments. I also have the opportunity to learn new things continually.
What would you like to tell us about yourself?
I really enjoy WordCamps and have had the privilege of speaking 4 times on teaching children block coding. Before the pandemic, I used to visit my son’s classroom once a month to lead them in coding activities, which was incredibly rewarding.
In my spare time, I play many video and board games. Gloomhaven and Sentinels of the Multiverse are two of my favorite tabletop games. And I LOVE Star Wars!!
