Girl Scouts Earn Badges at IMH

This November, InMotion Hosting was excited to continue our annual partnership with local Girl Scouts. We offered two events to help encourage an interest in STEM opportunities as well as prepare for the corporate world. The Girl Scouts organization consists of more than 1.7 million girls who participate in programs to help build courage, confidence, and character as well as aim to make the world a better place.

We were able to host these events onsite in our Virginia Beach, VA office.

Our legacy badge event was with Girl Scout Cadettes (grades 6 through 8) and was titled “Coding Something Meme-ingful”. Members of our design team had a blast going over the basics of computer coding and helping the girls create their own custom meme through HTML and CSS code.

We also had a new event for Girl Scout Seniors (grades 9 through 10) focused on business etiquette and preparing for a professional workplace. They learned valuable communication skills including negotiation, networking, interview skills, and how to establish their own personal brand at work.

Our team members really enjoyed spending time with the girls and getting to share their knowledge. We are excited to hold these events again and are looking at additional event topics to focus on next time.

A special thanks to our team members and Jacqueline at Girl Scouts of Colonial Coast for making the event possible. Also to our participants for engaging with our presenters and taking time out of your weekend to learn with us.
