Due to the prevalence of spam in our online world today, there are a number of publicly available resources on the internet that list servers that have been identified as sources of spam activity. These lists, commonly referred to as blacklists, are used by many email providers to reduce the amount of spam received by their users.
Is my server on a blacklist?
If you received a bounceback message when you attempted to send email, it may be informing you that your email was blocked due to abuse. In this context, abuse usually means the server was used to distribute spam. The bounceback message means the system has identified you as a source of spam based on one of the available blacklists.
If this is the case, you can use our Bounceback Message Parser to learn more about the error. If the email was returned due to a blacklisting issue, the tool will give you the option to notify our Systems Administration team to review the issue further.
