What is a blacklist?

These lists, commonly referred to as blacklists, are used by many email providers to reduce the amount of spam received by their users.

Is my server on a blacklist?

If you received a bounceback message when you attempted to send email, it may be informing you that your email was blocked due to abuse. In this context, abuse usually means the server was used to distribute spam. The bounceback message means the system has identified you as a source of spam based on one of the available blacklists.
