Customers can create affiliate accounts on their own without you having to manually create them. If you’re not familiar with Affiliate accounts in OpenCart, or how to manually create affiliate accounts, please see our tutorial.
Just like manually created Affiliate accounts, customer created affiliate accounts must be approved by the OpenCart administrator prior to being used. For more information on approving affiliate accounts in OpenCart, please see our article.
Let’s look at an example of how a customer creates their own OpenCart affiliate account:
On the home page of your site, in the footer, you should have a link called “Affiliates”. Click on the link.
In the “New Affiliate” section, click on the “Continue” button
Fill in the fields. When you are done filling in the fields click “Continue”
The account has now been created and must be approved prior to the new affiliate using the product URLs with their special tracking code in it.
