In this tutorial, we will review two new module features released in Joomla 3.2: access control and easy editing.
Module Permissions
New in Joomla 3.2 is access control for modules. In prior versions of Joomla, the Module Manager tool in the backend dashboard did not include a Module Permissions tab. In Joomla 3.2, you can now modify user group permissions for modules.
Module editing from front end
In Drupal 8, you can edit a module from the frontend just by clicking it’s edit button. This feature joins the Joomla family, and is now available in Joomla 3.2! When you hover over a module in Joomla 3.2 on the front end of your website, you can quickly:
- Click a button to edit the module
- See what type of module it is
- See the module’s position
