There may be a time when your domain name changes. You will need to alter information in the PrestaShop 1.5 back office in order for your store to continue to function properly with the new domain name. Below are the instructions for changing your shop URL in the Prestashop admin dashboard.
Modifying your shop URL in the PrestaShop 1.5 back office.
- Log into your PrestaShop 1.5 dashboard.
- Using the top menu bar, hover over the Preferences tab and click on the SEO&URLs option from the menu.
- This leads you to the SEO & URLs configuration screen. Scroll down the page until you find the Set Shop URL section. Here you will find the two URLs you will need to change. Shop Domain is the normal URL and SSL Domain is the URL for using hte secure version of the site. Unless you have a custom setup, these will typically be the same.
- After entering your new URL, click on the green Save button in the upper right corner of the screen. This will finalize and save your new URL.
I am currently using this Shop Domain: https://prueba.multicompras.cl/ I want to change it into https://multicompras.cl/
If I change it in the BackOffice, do I have to change it in the database also?
How can I change my web address, and remove the pswebstore, so for example, www.website.pswebstore.com to www.website.com
I hope you can help me out. thanks.
Hello Mon,
Are you saying you have the store currently in a subdomain of your website and want it to display as the website? Or are you moving the store from a subdomain to the main site? It is best to have the domain pointing to reflect the location of the store.
If you have a store as a subdomain on another site, then you would need to have the domain name purchased and pointed to that subdomain prior to changing the URL as described above. Then it will display using just the domain name.

Hello Pramod,
I am not quite sure what you are asking. Can you provide a link so we can visually see what the issue is? Also, if you can provide steps to duplicate the problem, that would be helpful.
