How to Use the Resource Profile Plugin in cPanel

cPanel includes a plugin to help analyze your account’s resource usage. If your account has been utilizing an excessive amount of resources, the Resource Profile plugin can provide insight to diagnose the cause of the excessive usage. In this guide, you can learn how to use the Resource Profile plugin for cPanel to generate and review a report.

Generate a Report

The Resource Profile tool reads and interprets the Apache DomLogs then provides details of various statistics. The results of the report(s) generated by the plugin can be used to pinpoint what is causing excessive usage of server resources strictly pertaining to your website’s activity. In this section, you can learn how to use the Resource Profile plugin to generate a report to begin investigating the cause of excessive usage.

  1. Log into your cPanel.
  2. In the Search field labeled “Find functions quickly by typing here.”, type resource.
  3. Click on the Resource Profile icon.
  4. Click on the Create a new report button.

View A Report

If you have only generated one (1) report then those details will be displayed immediately upon accessing the Resource Profile page. If you have generated more than one report, you can follow the steps below to choose which report to view.

  1. Log into your cPanel.
  2. In the Search field labeled “Find functions quickly by typing here.”, type resource.
  3. Click on the Resource Profile icon.
  4. Scroll down the page to the View Past Reports section and click the drop-down arrow, to expand it.
  5. From the drop-down menu, choose the report with the date and time that you would like to review. Then, click the View Report button.
