How to Add an RSS Feed in Thunderbird

Add an RSS Feed

  1. Open Thunderbird.
  2. Click on Local Folders.
  3. Under Accounts, click Feeds.
  4. Add an account name.
  5. Click Next, then Finish.
  6. Click on the Feeds account on the left.
  7. Click Manage subscriptions.
  8. Add the RSS feed to the Feed URL.
  9. Specify how often the feed updates.
  10. Click Add.

Your feed will now show underneath your email account and Local Folders.

Retention Policy

You can edit the feed properties for data usage preferences.

  1. Right-click on the RSS feed and click Properties.
  2. Click the Retention Policy tab.
  3. Uncheck Use my account settings.
  4. Change your preferences.
  5. Click OK.
