How to log into your Roundcube email client

Email is included in your InMotion hosting account. Within the webmail tool there are three different email clients you can use to check your email with. Each one is slightly different and it is up to your personal preferences which one you use routinely. You can, however, choose a different one each time you log in, if you wish. This tutorial demonstrates how to log into the RoundCube email client.

Logging into your RoundCube email client

  1. enter webmail URL

First, access the webmail login page. This can be done by via any web browser. The exact URL will differ depending on your domain name, but it will always be one of two formats, either example.com/webmail or webmail.example.com. The example.com portion of the URL will be replaced with your own domain name, of course. Enter the URL and click Enter.

  2. webmail login box

This will bring you to the webmail login area, you will log in with your email address and its password. Once you have entered the correct information, click on the Login button.

  3. email client selection screen

This brings you to the initial screen with all three email clients to choose from. From here, click on the RoundCube logo to enter that email client.

  1. Hi. I tried to login roundcube webmail from my personal laptop but all the time it is saying login failed. It works on the computer at  my workplace. Can you please help me out. Thanks

    1. The only things I can recommend to check are:

      • The URL you are logging in at.
      • Disable any password managers.
      • Use a Private Browsing Session

If those solutions do not resolve the issue, reply back with some more details of the steps you are taking to log into RoundCube and we may be able to assist you further.

IMPORTANT: Keep in mind that your reply will be public, so please do NOT post any sensitive information, such as email addresses, usernames, or passwords.

If you are a customer of InMotion Hosting, you may contact Technical Support to assist you further.

  2. Please help.. My login mail and password for roundcube webmail do not Work suddently. It comes up with login fail.

    1. That generally means the email address or password you are using invalid, You will need to reset your password in your cPanel to ensure it is correct. If that does not work you should contact support so they can troubleshoot your server for you.

  3. Is it possible to install Roundcube in a specific folder, let´s say mydomain.com/email and access the emails configured in cPanel from there? I´ve tried it but it says IMAP server error.

    1. Roundcube is an email client, it operates by connecting to the server. You can access it anywhere and it should be no issue to use “email” – however, but make sure to check your mail settings and check to see they are set correctly. If you continue to have problems connecting then please contact our live technical support team via phone/chat/email.

    1. Hello Yolanda,

RoundCube allows you to use the DATE column in order to sort your emails. If you don’t see it, click on the wheel in the top left corner in the are that displays the emails. You will then be able to add the DATE option as one of the columns when viewing your emails.

If you have any further questions or comments, please let us know.

  4. I can not log in to my account.  The log in page comes up and I type in my user name and password, but them I get a blank page (in very small type I see [email protected] tuped at the top of thepage but the 3 email systems do not come up.  My name is John Karras and the site is used by my company Job Transitions, Inc.  Can you please help?

    1. Hello John,

Sorry for the problem with your webmail. I don’t have access to your account as it appears to not be hosted with InMotion Hosting. You will probably need to speak with your email admin (if you’re not the administrator), or the technical support for your account. I am able to see the normal login for webmail if I type in jobtransitions.net/webmail.

If you have any further questions or comments, please let us know.

      Regards,
      Arnel C.

  5. Hi, is there any way to mask the domain.com/webmail so it doesn’t show inmotionhosting.com and appears to stay on their domain name.  I have clients who get lost and think they have clicked the wrong button.

I tried to install roundcube separately but kept getting the error message that too much server where connected. I checked how many connect their were but no where listed.   Thoughts?

    Thanks

  6. Hello . I’d like to make available to the user the possibility to change the password roundcube email . How do I do that? My server is Bluehost and I find the way to install roundclub -password plugin. Can you help me?

    1. Hello Reginaldo,

For us, the possibility to change the email password is already available to the user when logging in. The main thing is that they would need to KNOW THEIR EXISTING PASSWORD before they could change it. Providing the option to change it even though they don’t know the existing one is a possible security hole for private email accounts. I do not know of another way to provide password recovery services to your clients. You may need to speak with your host’s tech services for further assistance.

If you have any further questions or comments, please let us know.

      Regards,
      Arnel C.

    1. Hello Kairen,

The URL you provided takes me to a webmail login. Have you tried other devices or networks to see if it is a local issue?

  8. I am an Office Administrator/Paralegal.  I cannot access the law firm’s email from my PC.  Although, I have done so in the past, I’m repeatedly told that I don’t have the correct username or password.  I’ve used this email 5 days a week for 4 years, I KNOW what the username and password is.  It is the holiday season.  I have work to do from home and very important emails to reply to.  I am very frustrated that I cannot access our email.  Please advise.  I don’t want to go into work to open the email.  Ridiculous.

    1. Hello Heather,

Sorry for the problem with your law firm’s email. In order for us to help you with something like the lawfirm’s email, we would need to be able to verify who you are. If you have access to the account, then we would be happy to provide a way to access to the email accounts if you are having problems with access. Since this is a security issue, you would need to contact our live technical support team who is available 24/7 via phone/chat/email (contact information is at the bottom of this page). They will ask to verify your identify before providing support. We do apologize that we cannot help you directly in this matter, but if you have any further questions or comments, please let us know.

      Kindest regards,
      Arnel C.

  9. Hi please can you help. This is my business email with roundcube and it won’t let me login. I have phoned Virgin media who I have Internet with and they say it roundcube and they can do nothing to help as its a third party. I urgently need help or a contact telephone number for roundcube that deals with the .com websites

look forward to hearing from you

    1. Hello Susan,

Thank you for contacting us. We are happy to help you troubleshoot, but will need some additional information.

What symptoms occur when you attempt to login?

Often, you can regain access to webmail by resetting your email password in cPanel, then logging into webmail again. Have you tried this yet?

I also noticed the email you provided privately is handled by apexhosting.co.uk, have you tried to contact them regarding this? They may be experiencing an issue on their side.

      Thank you,
      John-Paul

    1. Hello Vivek,

Can you direct us to a url so we may replicate this issue? Is this on a server you have root access to?

  11. It would be helpful if you had an article comparing/contrasting the three email systems we have to choose from. 🙂

  12. In my inbox it shows no messages, but i have received many mails, I have not deleted .   while mass mailing, what is the maximum mail can be sent

    1. Hello Suresh,

Roundcube looks directly at the email account on the server. If you are missing emails you may have another device connecting with POP protocol. The POP protocol removed the emails from the server as it reads them and pulls them down to that particular device.

As for the max emais, shared hosting accounts are limited to 250 emails per hour, 50 maximum recipients at a time. If you need to send more, you may request a bulk mail extension so you can get a higher limit.

      Kindest Regards,
      Scott M

The trouble maiadress is:  [email protected]

    1. Hello Kenneth,

Thank you for your question. I am unable to locate an account with us with either that domain name or either email address you provided. In checking the DNS for dectagent.se I see it is not pointing to our name servers. The same with the MX records.

If you are using one of our servers, you will need to have either the domain name pointed to our name servers or the MX records pointed to our servers.

      Kindest Regards,
      Scott M
