Cannot use FTP with cpanel credentials for alexartloft.org

I am getting an error message that the FTP server timed out when trying to open alexartloft.org/public_html via my cpanel credentials. I am using Transit for Macintosh as my ftp client and the Chrome browser on Mac OS X 10.10.4 with WordPress most current version. I cannot set up a CDN within Wordpress because it says it cannot connect to alexartloft.org:21.

Hello ritalewis, Thank you for your question on connecting to FTP. I created a test FTP account in lieu of your cPanel user and it will not connect to the host name alexartloft.org because it is pointing to CloudFlare. You will want to point it to your web hosting server name instead. This makes a direct FTP connection to the web server and does not go through cloudflare, which is what you want when managing files.
