I want to pswd protect my entire site with. Do I protect public-html?

I want to password protect my entire site. It is a members-only site. Do I use cPanel to protect public-html? Or is best to leave certain files - index.html, or CSS files, or something - in public-html and move the rest of the site to a new folder that I use cPanel to password protect?

Hello savery422, Thank you for your question on password protecting your site. If you do not care about search engines indexing the site, then you can certainly password protect the public_html folder. This way your site is only known or accessed by your members. Kindest Regards, Scott M
