url with accent broken after migration from hostgator to inmotion
hi,
i have just migrated my reseller account from hostgator to inmotionhosting. i am experiencing issues with images with characters such as é,è,ó,ñ in its url.
name of the file is ok with its accent an in the database it appears also with the accent.
database and name of the database and files are exactly the same as they used to be. Is it a problem with the configuration of the hosting? and encoding problem? someone can help please?

Sorry to hear you are having issues with your images. While our servers will display the images with accented characters in their names, you will want to check to see how theya re being called. For example, if you visit the URL for the images (domain.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02) you can see the full file names. Calling the files with the exact setup (capitalization, spelling, etc) works, even with accented characters. I tested many of the images there with success.
I was able to find your support ticket and check the samples you gave there. I see you changed one by removing the accented characters, one simply has different characters according to the file list, and another has capital letters in the filename but not in the URL you provided. They must match exactly for our system to find them.
Simple is better, so we recommend all lower case with - or _ to separate words. Spaces and capitalization can cause issues. Your accented characters should be fine, though it makes things difficult for those who may need to type URLs in using a standard American keyboard. However, if most of your traffic uses layouts with the accents, then it makes more sense.
Kindest Regards,
