Adding Folder/Mailboxes in Email

Is it possible to add Folders(aka Mailboxes) to IMAP accounts via Apple clients(Mail, iOS)? I can see that I can add them via Horde if I log in, but I get an error trying to add them via my iPhone.
Is there a client that supports a tag system like gmail?

Hello ArghBarton, Thank you for contacting us about adding folders on an apple email client. I could not find a way to create a folder on your iPhone, but you can add folders you created with other clients such as Horde. After creating the folders in Horde, you can SYNC your IMAP folders on iPhone. If you have any further questions, feel free to post them below. Thank you, John-Paul
