connecting email to gmail

Ive followed this link you guys have and did everything it said but im getting an error.

At the point I input my info, username and password im getting a " Server denied POP3 access for the given username and password."

but that IS my username and password.

am i doing something wrong

Hello, I'm sorry to hear that you're having problems with connecting your email to gmail. The link you provided is simply the link ask questions in our Support Center, so I'm not sure what steps you're following. Also, we don't know if you're trying to use GMAIL for handling your incoming and outgoing email, or if you're simply trying to configure an email client to gmail. The error message you're giving us indicates that you're either using the wrong user name and password, or you're using the wrong server settings. To find the correct email settings for configuring an email client, check out How to find my email settings. If you re an InMotion Hosting customer, then please provide more information about your account and steps you're taking so that we can investigate the matter further. Here is the tutorial forsetting up the Gmail client. If you're using Google Apps for mail, then the setup is different. Checkout this tutorial for more details.
