Provided root password is not working

Hello!
I keep resetting the root password via AMP -> Change Root Password but when I try the password that is provided it is not authenticating. Also, when I click the "Reset passord" button nothing happens; I have to refresh the page or go back and then reload the page. Thanks in advance!
