VPS hosting ROOT FTP Access

I am thinking of upgrading from my re-seller to VPS. If I get VPS plan and get ROOT access, can I FTP in as ROOT and see everything in my directory structure? I want to be able to do full FTP backups of all my sites from one location.

Hi tmeyer, Thanks for your question regarding root access with a VPS. What you want to do is possible. You can get root access from AMP and then use it to access your VPS via FTP. However, something to keep in mind, one large backup is going to be time-consuming and take up lots of space. I'd suggest creating backups based on each cPanel account.
