How to enable Zend Guard?

Good Day, I tried the IMH instructions to enable Zend Guard with no luck. Those instructions can be found here: https://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/website/zend/enable-zend-optimizer-or-zend-guard . After Live Chat with support I was advised IMH does not have Zend Guard installed on PHP 5.5+ and that I should downgrade to 5.3. PHP 5.4 has been around a long time now as well as a stable solution of Zend Guard for 5.4 but it also does not work. Finally I downgraded to 5.3 which I'm not entirely happy with but it still does not work. I have created a new PHP with the comments from the link with no success. When will Zend Guard be installed on at least 5.4 or 5.5? Downgraded to 5.3.29 Released on August 14, 2014 is not an option...
