How to clear / flush Nginx cache?
Hello. On a Chat support yesterday, I was suggested to install OPcode caching and NGINX. Both were kindly installed by the Support Team, at my request.
What I didn't know is that I would be mostly on my own in regard to NGINX. To say I'm not well versed in NGINX would be putting it mildly - I'm a total ignorant.
My question:
1) Should I ask Tech Support to, please, uninstall Nginx for me at once, or should I keep the newly installed Nginx and go about my site as usual?
2) Should you advise me to keep the Nginx, I believe I should at least learn how to clear its cache from time to time. Could you please instruct me on how to do this in a step by step manner? I know it should be done through SSH, which I've never used but I found it can be accessed via my Mac's Terminal app. Should just restarting/reloading Nginx do the trick of clearing its cache? I found an article on how to restart Nginx via SSH here: http://www.netdigi.net/how-to-restart-nginx-webserver-vis-ssh/ - and the command seems to be just
# nginx -s reload
or
# /path/to/full/nginx -s reload
although I'd need you to tell me how to access my server in the first place, and also the /path/to/nginx .
Thank you very much for your advice.

Hello,
Sorry for the problems and confusion with NGINX,
1) Should I ask Tech Support to, please, uninstall Nginx for me at once, or should I keep the newly installed Nginx and go about my site as usual?
If you do not intend to go forward with using/learning Nginx, then you should have it un-installed. Otherwise, you may have to consult with technical support for many typical server issues.
2) Should you advise me to keep the Nginx, I believe I should at least learn how to clear its cache from time to time. Could you please instruct me on how to do this in a step by step manner?
We do not support Nginx in any real depth. We do have this education channel on Nginx. Using a third-party website, you can see the suggested solutions for this issue here.
I hope this helps to answer your questions, please let us know if you require any further assistance.
Regards,
Arnel C.
