Installing and enabling LDAP support for PHP

Although I've seen a few answers here on this they do not seem to be relevant or correct for newer servers. We need to get this working for an intranet site using Joomla with LDAP authentication.

We are trying to install and enable ldap.so but
A: cannot install it through yum or cpanel
B: cannot access EASYAPACHE
C: cannot find accurate solutions

Please help direct me how to accomplish this.

Hello Bill, Thanks for the question about enabling LDAP support for PHP. Installations of this nature require root access to the server. This access is only available with VPS and dedicated servers. Since this type of installation can easily cause issues with your server operation if done incorrectly, instruction for it is not typically given. You can find documentation on the Apache Module: LDAP in the cPanel.net website. If you require further assistance on this topic, please submit a verified support ticket with details on your installation request. If you have any further questions or comments, please let us know. Regards, Arnel C.
