How to do a Domain transfer from an expired account.

My old host was Bluehost. My domain name is clayspringswater.org. I am now hosting with Inmotionhosting. The problem is, my old account expired on 9/17/2016. Due to a emergency medical requirement, I was hospitalized for the last week and did not get my domain transferred to to an Inmotionhosting server before the expiration date. I can not get into my old cPanel to do the transfer request. Can the transfer still be made in another way.
Any help appreciated.
