Re-direct error WordPress multisite

I am having an issue with multisite wordpress. The main site works on both frontend and backend but any added site gives me a too many redirects error. It seems to happen if I created a site and needed to delete it or the db and start over as it does not happen when a multisite install is created without an issue and I do not have to start over. Is there a place that something is being stored about the first install that I created that is causing this or is it something else.
