Password protect documents and media?

Is there a way to password protect documents like there is for webpages? I would like to upload a roster to my site and have select people have access to it. I could put the link for the roster behind the password protected page however, if the link is released to the public the password would not be effective in protecting it.

Hello, Thank you for your question about protecting files and directories. There are many different ways to accomplish this. One of the secure methods we recommend often is to use an .htaccess password. Or, if your site is WordPress-based, it is even easier. You can set a page or post to "Password Protected" and assign a password. In either case, you will provide the secure credentials to the users in your group and they will be able to access the pages.
