unopened email shows as read

I use roundcube for my webmail. Often when I log in emails show as being read even though I haven't opened them. I have missed several emails as a result. No one else has my credentials and I use very strong passwords. Why is this happening?

Hello, Sorry for the issues with your email being marked as read. This issue can be the result of multiple email clients opening your email.
