How can I access a domain i added in cpanel without updating dns

I can access the domain name with the files in public_html via http://vps####.inmotionhosting.com/~[cpanel username]/ If i add a domain, say example .com it sits in /example.com/ Is there a way for me to access that via e.g. http://vps####.inmotionhosting.com/~[cpanel username]/example.com ? I'd like to be able to migrate my site, see if it all looks good and only then change the DNS settings.

You'd be able to access the website using it's full URL path. Your example.com above would be replaced with the folder name.
