What is Backup Manager?
Just got a bill for something I know nothing about.

I had always assumed my data was being backed up, but apparently it's only the first 10 gigs and you charge for more. And there's no notification etc that my data was not being backed up because it had crossed over this unknown 10 gig limit.
I've used InMotion for over 2 years with a VPS100 and your support staff is awesome, but this was a nasty surprise. You need to either backup all the storage we are paying for, or change your sales page.

We were charged $10.65 for Backup Manager - 1 Year. Period covering: June 8,2020 - November 17 2020. That seems like 6 months, not a year. And exactly what is 'backup manager'? I don't recall signing up for it.thanks, Bill

Backup Manager is a $2/month subscription for 10 GB of storage with $1 per additional 10 GB of disk space. You can also use alternate backups solutions such as the cPanel backup. If you opted out of the backup subscription, then you would be responsible for making a backup of your site.

Manage the date and time schedule of your automated backup service by setting the backups to run daily, weekly, or even at a specific time. Once the backup is completed your data backup will be remotely stored at a secure InMotion Hosting location. This protects your backups from unplanned server issues.

Thank you for your question about configuring backups in for reseller servers. I advise checking with out Live Support team as far as the sizes of your current accounts and backup availability.
If you were interested in upgrading to a VPS or Dedicated server, you can schedule backups via WHM.

We're sorry that there was some confusion over the statements on the sales page. As with many statements in advertising, there are sometimes limits and conditions that are indicated elsewhere. In this case, the terms of service on your contract state the limits you have indicated. Realistically speaking, there would be need to be some limits on storing data. There's no way they could continue adding storage with no limit to the server - at least not without imparting expense to the customer.

Why do i need back up manager for $34.92. I only use inmotion to host my domain. Have not web page and have a few email addresses associated with account.
