Boldgrid: if I switch to boldgrid, will it keep my current file structure (page urls)?

I'm thinking of moving another website to InMotion, and using the BoldGrid platform.  It is a long-established wordpress website that is due for an update.  My concern is if I switch to a BoldGrid theme, will it keep the current file structure (file names, urls)?  Thanks!  (I understand that I'll still need to do a ton of customization and updating to get the old theme relics to display on the new theme)

Thanks JT.  That makes sense.

If you don't mind me asking another question:  my website frequently uses Categories to display indexes of posts for each of our products.  I don't see how that works in BoldGrid.

Basically, I need to have a page, for example Restaurants, that is an index of the individual-restaurant pages.

What's the best way to do this?  Is there a widget or block that will display a particular Category?

There are multiple ways to do this.

  • You can use a plugin like Posts in Page which auto-populates certain types of content
  • Auto-add them to your navigation bar in the Customize section
  • Try a Live Preview with any themes to see if it changes how you interact with the categories

I recommend creating a backup before testing this.

Hello and thanks for contacting us. A BoldGrid theme shouldn't affect your WordPress website. If you're worried, you can always try on a separate staging WordPress site or with a staging plugin.
