up-publish a site

I wish to take down a published site, as it's not ready for prim time as of yet, anyone have a clue?

How would you rate the customer service you received?

Hello and thanks for contacting us. There are a couple ways to do this.


  1. You can redirect all visitors not from your normal working IP address to another page stating it's under construction with a 302 redirect
  2. If you're using a CMS such as WordPress, you can use an under construction plugin
  3. You can add directory password protection to the URL
  4. Deny visitors not from your IP address
  5. Edit your robots.txt file to prevent crawls from search engines
