There are quite a few ways to temporarily take your website offline without deleting anything!
If you have a WordPress site, the easiest thing to do is to install one of the many free 'under construction' plugins. This will send any visitors to your site to a placeholder page, while keeping all of your files in place.
If you are not using a WordPress site, you can also set up one using a template we provide or make your own!
