Transferring domain correctly without interruption - absolute new user here.

My domain name is registered with IONOS.  My URL simply points to my current Etsy shop.  I have purchased hosting and wish to build a standalone website with inmotion.  I do not want my URL to point to a new shop while it is being built -- it needs to point to my Etsy shop until my website build is complete.  Is is possible to build my website with Inmotion without transferring my domain from IONOS?  Thank you.
