Server links to old test file despite replacement of index.html
I have a complete site created in Adobe Animate Flash/Actionscript. The file tests AOK when run in Safari or Firefox browser testing from Animate. I have tested several versions of the website with corrections being made at each stage. I am now in a position where my current site files when uploaded, are not read by browser. Instead an older version is continually read and broadcast. Having deleted all index.html files from my Inmotion Files in Cpanel, this behaviour should be impossible. But it is happening. How is this possible? where else may an old version of Index.html exist? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Hello, and sorry to hear that you're running into site trouble. What you're describing sounds like it could be a caching issue. Please be sure to check the site in a private/incognito window and, if needed, clear your browser cache to make sure you are looking at the latest version of the site. You should also check your site's .htaccess file and make sure that there is not an override in place pointing to an alternate index.html or index.php file, and further I'd suggest checking your cPanel and make sure that the URL you're working on is using the folder you expect to be using. That said, our servers are not optimized to run Adobe Flash, so if you rule out everything else that could be the issue. Hope that helps narrow it down!
