Hi Dominic, Thanks for posting your question. I'm more than happy to assist you. Most customers purchase a dedicated IP address for an SSL certificate. If you're unfamiliar with SSL certificates, we have a great article you can review. Other customers believe that having a dedicated SSL can help with SEO. However, Matt Cutts who works at Google has confirmed that dedicated IP addresses do not affect PageRank. Here's a link to his blog article on dedicated IP addresses.
