local folder
I am trying to upload a new page that has a link from a page that's already on the web site. Should this new page come from
a specific location on my computer? (Like the site folder?)
My web design software seems to be sensitive as to where a file is located as to whether it can be opened or if files that have a link to it can find the file.
I'm worried that if I define with my new Adobe Dreamweaver software a folder that has always been this site's folder, it might cause damage to the web site.
I moved the .html file that I want to upload into the site folder, but the file that links to it can't find it in this new location.

Thanks for posting your question. I'm more than happy to assist you. It sounds like the easiest way for you to create what you are trying to accomplish is link to the file that's on the website using the full path/ URL.
Instead of using relative links like "/pathtofile" you'll want to use the URL such as "http://yourdomain.com/pathtofile"
That way the link will not rely on where the file is in relation to your files on your local computer.
I hope this helps! If you need further assistance please feel free to contact us.
Thanks!
