Can I transfer my domain in the first 60 days?

I purchased a domain name through a different company and decided to move to inmotion hosting, but it tells me i cant transfer my domain until after 60 days because it is still new. Does that mean I cant do any work to set up my website until the domain name is transfered to inmotion?

Hi ahelms, Thanks for posting your question. I'm more than happy to assist you. You are correct, you cannot transfer a domain name the first 60 days after you purchases it. However, you do not need to transfer the domain name to actually use it. When you transfer a domain name, you only transfer the management rights to the domain to your InMotion account. This makes things simple having hosting and the management rights for the domain on one account. You can works with the domain now by simply changing the nameservers for the domain at your current registrar to our nameservers.
