Yes, there is a bandwidth difference on the account. The flv streaming from the server uses the server resources whereas the embedded Youtube uses Youtubes bandwidth resources.
We do recommend embedding whenever possible as it helps the overall health of the server and account. Youtube, Vimeo, and other video sourcing servers are specifically built for the heavy resource usage that videos require so they would have less issues and be able to handle a higher level of traffic at one time when serving them.
This is not to say you cannot stream from your server. Smaller and infrequently used files are best suited for our servers. If you are expecting heavier traffic or many users to view the video at once, I would go with embedding.
