what is the difference between the www and the public_html folders
The WWW folder is basically a mirror -or symlink (symbolic link)- of the PUBLIC_HTML folder. The actual folder being used is the public_html. You should be working with PUBLIC_HTML because the WWW is a symlink and not a folder.
