WordPress database error MySQL server has gone away for query
I uploaded a new theme to my blog (http://mandysroyalty.org/royal_rep/) called Genesis. I also uploaded its child theme, called Balance.
It works, it's just that I cannot change the theme options. When I try to save them, it brings me to a blank screen. The options.php screen is blank.
The error log says "WordPress database error MySQL server has gone away for query". For some reason, this error occurs only for this particular blog. I created a test blog and uploaded the themes, and there I could save theme options.
Is it possible to fix that single options.php page?
Thanks!
Mandy

Yes, if you believe that options.php is malfunctioning, you can simply copy it from one of your other blogs, assuming they are using the same version. Be sure to rename the original as opposed to deleting it in case you need to return to it.
It is my belief, however, that it is a plugin or a theme file that may be causing the issue. You can test plugins by disabling them and seeing if the error still occurs, or test the theme by testing another child theme.
