I can access the shared server using ssh and ftp, but obviously when putting the shared ip address in a browser it doesn't direct to my root public_html. Where is this located now that I don't own the primary domain?

You can access the account in a browser using the temp URL. You can find the temp URL by logging into your Account Management Panel (AMP) and then clicking on Account Technical Details. It will be an icon in AMP in your account details.

Thanks for your question about accessing the PUBLIC_HTML folder for your website without using the the domain name. As long as you have the appropriate access, then you can access the website files using the IP address for the server in place of the domain name. If you require further assistance about using FTP, then please see Getting Started with FTP. You can also log into the server using SSH and then navigate to the directory where the files are located. As with FTP, you would need to have the appropriate login credentials and permissions.
