Help with Building a Basic Joomla 3.0 Template with Bootstrap - Joomla 3.0 208

Hi,

I have followed the tutorials up to section 5, but when I go to install the Joomla template in the back end, I get this error message: JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find XML setup file

My files look exactly the same as in the screenshots, but it doesn't seem to be working. I'm a complete novice to all this stuff, so it is likely I'm doing something really silly!

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Hello Jet, It appears that the problem lies in the permissions for tmp and templates folders. If you are not on a suPhp server, you will need to modify the permissions of those folders temporarily to 777 and then set them back to 755 after the install. This was determined as we tried to duplicate the issue on a regular server and could not. We then tried on a non-suphp testing environment and then got your error. InMotion servers are suphp servers so they have the ability to execute commands without having to change the file permissions manually every time it comes across an issue like that.
