Filezilla giving 530 error

Hi,

I've a few question regarding ftp and domain transferring.

1) I currently has myphotoshopdesign.com as the main domain. Previously its located at Hostmonster but when I'm about to purchase my subscription here Inmotion prompted me to put a domain ( I assume its for transferring to a new host ). I tried to log in using filezilla via FTP and it gave me 530 error. It says

USER OK
Response: 530 Login authentication failed
Error: Critical error
Error: Could not connect to server

I've downloaded a XML file setting for filezilla which is under ftp setting in AMP and imported it in.

Can you help me resolve this?

2) I recently bought a domain under Inmotion which is pixeltinkerstudios.com. That domain should be a subdomain under my main domain, right? So I should be able to access it under the same filezilla configuration?

I've also made research before making this. I've looked into other person's problem regarding this error, following some tutorials and have tried everything. This is my last hope.

Hello Zerotwostudio, and thanks for your question. Sorry to hear you're having some issues getting connected to our server. It looks like your domain myphotoshopdesign.com is not pointed to us yet, and the domain pixeltinkerstudios.com hasn't been added to your account as an addon domain yet, it was just registered. So you're getting a login error in FileZilla since you're probably still trying to connect to your previous host using the credentials for our server. I went ahead and added it for you following the steps laid out in our guide on adding an addon domain in cPanel. It can take up to 24 hours after making DNS changes like this for it to fully propagate and point to our server. So in meantime if you wanted to access the server you can simply use either the hostname or IP address of the server: Hostname: biz130.inmotionhosting.com IP Address: 205.134.251.22 You'd want to upload the files to /public_html/pixeltinkerstudios.com/ for the addon domain, and just in the /public_html/ directory for your primary domain. You can test your site using the temporary URL also while you don't have your primary domain pointed to us yet. Hope that information helped you out. If you're still having any issues at all please let us know. - Jacob
