Thank you for contacting us about what to do when an email address gets taken over by a spammer. I first recommend changing your email password. This should stop the emails from continuing. Next, check any contact forms or email apps that are associated with that email address. For example, is that email address used for a mailing list app (such as MailChimp) or to send outgoing mail from a "Contact Us" form? Your email logs can provide additional clues to help you determine where the emails are originating from. You can also suspend the email account in cPanel while you investigate further.
A whole bunch of emails are in my client's email inbox on roundtable that say mail delivery error returned to sender, and when you open it, it is full of spam to strange addresses and the subject is spam products like viagra etc. What can be done about this?
