Where is the Location of the Git Configuration File?
I am having issues with git. I would like to inspect the system configuration files. Can you tell me where they are?
I have had working repositories for over a year. This week I am getting an error message:
fatal: bad config value for 'receive.denycurrentbranch' in config
fatal: Could not read from remote repository.
Please make sure you have the correct access rights
and the repository exists.or message from git when I push my version.
Can you help?

Hi Andrew.
Thanks for posting your question about the location of the Git configuration file. I'm sorry to see that you are receiving errors and experiencing issues getting connected properly. The location of this file appears to be relative to either the root directory of the server or from the root directory of where you installed Git locally. For example:
/etc/gitconfig -or- /home/userna5/etc/gitconfig
