What do I do when the IP for my server is blacklisted?

The IP address for my website's server has been blacklisted due to issues with another user's website. Since I cannot fix their problem, I cannot effectively remove the IP from spamhaus.org. What can I do?
Duplicates 6
rDNS not found - email spam.

Lately, I've had problems with my emails I send going to spam. I did a scan and found my domain is listed on a spam list. I received this error message and I'm trying to figure out how to resolve it.

IP address blacklisted
Hi,

some emails sent from my domain wordtolatex.com are not delivered because the IP adress 66.117.14.157 (assigned to wordtolatex.com) is blacklisted at http://www.spamhaus.org/ and some other lists.

Can you please resolve this serious issue. Thank you.
Blacklisted Domain IP listed on Blackhaus, Protected Sky and CBL
Noticed earlier today that the IP address that is associated with my domain is listed on Blackhaus, Protected Sky and CBL due to spam originating from that address. I am no longer able to send emails.

I have checked everything associated with my domain and the computers that connect to it for email. But I cannot find any malware software or otherwise. There has already been a request to delist it on CBL (not by me) and it was relisted 13 hours later. I know there are other domains on the same IP address...is there anything that I or InMotion Hosting can do to resolve this?

Remove server from blacklist?
I found one of your servers on a blacklist: 206.162.234.178

Barracuda and Rats Dyna both list it. When will you get it delisted?
Biz112 BLACKLISTED AGAIN!!!!!!!
Since you tried to fix your SMTP mail on April 18, it got blacklisted again. Are you guys capable to find out who sending out spam mails from your account to keep your smpt being blocked? or everyone using your smtp for sending email should look for a new hosting? This message was created automatically by mail delivery software. A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed: [email protected] SMTP error from remote mail server after RCPT TO:: host mail.xinyiglass.com [121.13.236.18]: 550 5.7.1 The IP address 173.247.247.68 was rejected by the Realtime Block List provide bl.spamcop.net. p.s. I already request a delist from bl.spamcop.net, as I really need to send out email to reach them.
My domain is blacklisted for spam but the actual offender has a completely different domain name

It appears that I'm stuck on a shared server with a domain name that has been flagged for spreading malware.

1. I ran my domain name through MXToolBox and it says my domain's IP address (205.134.234.77) was blacklisted on Spamhaus ZEN. Here's a link to the MXToolBox Analysis.

2. I looked up the IP address on Spamhaus. However... Spamhaus reports that the offending domain name is completely different than mine. Here's the Spamhaus report.

3. Doing a WhoIS lookup, the offending domain points to InMotionHosting nameservers. So I think they are an InMotionHosting customer as well, maybe sharing the same server IP as me?

Did I get anything wrong here?

How can we solve this? This is harming the deliverability of my emails (thus, harming my business) as SpamAssassin docks me points for my IP being on a blacklist.

Hello Abru,

Apologies for the headaches with the Blacklisting issue with your server.  If they're blacklisting the server IP and this is a shared server account, then you would need to work with our live technical support team.  They can get the server de-listed so that it is no longer on the blacklist. Please send your information and any bounce-back messages to our live support team and they will make it a priority to de-list your server so that you can use your email once more.

If you have any further questions or comments, please let us know.

Kindest regards,

Arnel C.

Hello, Sorry for the problem with the blacklisted domain IP. In order to resolve that issue, please submit a verified support ticket to our live technical support team. Make sure to include a bounce-back message (with the headers of that message). This is needed for verification of the issue. You should also state that your IP had been de-listed and then it was re-listed very quickly. This way the issue can be further investigated. The support team will need to investigate the server (including your account) in order to make sure that there are no malware scripts generating spam leading to the blacklisting of the server. Kindest regards, Arnel C.

Hello, Thanks for the question about removing the server from the blacklist. When I looked up that IP address, we don't own it. If you run a WHOIS on the IP address, it identifies the owner of the IP. Generally, they'll give a range, and the specific IP will fall in that range. Here's an example of a WHOIS output for that IP: NetRange: 206.162.224.0 - 206.162.239.255 CIDR: 206.162.224.0/20 NetName: UNWIRED-BROADBAND-3 NetHandle: NET-206-162-224-0-1 Parent: NET206 (NET-206-0-0-0-0) NetType: Direct Allocation OriginAS: AS33548 Organization: Unwired Broadband, Inc. (UNWIR-2) RegDate: 2010-02-12 Updated: 2012-03-02 Ref: http://whois.arin.net/rest/net/NET-206-162-224-0-1 I also double-checked it using a tool that lists ALL of the IP addresses that we have assigned, and it's not one of ours. If a server does need to be de-listed, please submit a verified support ticket with a corresponding bounce-back message showing the error that server is being blocked and our systems team will investigate and de-list as needed. I hope this helps to answer your question, please let us know if you require any further assistance. Regards, Arnel C.

Hello Xysglass.com, We do apologize for the email issues. I reviewed your current email log and I couldn't find any particular notification of being blocked by the RBL. This doesn't mean that the problem is not there, but we need more information from you to really check it. Can you please provide the email address that you are sending to? We can then verify it and send the issue up to systems for immediate correction. Or it's possible that your de-listing efforts have already taken place. If you wish to keep the information private, then please email the issue directly to our technical support team - as they can handle the issue directly without posting to our public forum. For of an explanation of email bounces, please go to this article: Email bounces If you have any further questions, please contact technical support available 24 hours a day / 7 days a week. Hello DianaH, Blacklisting is not an uncommon occurrence, particularly with shared hosting servers. Below is an article on why and how this happens: Why do mail servers get blacklisted? If you believe that your site IP is blacklisted, you can request that it be unlisted if it is from one of the main blacklist services such as Spamhaus. Request a delisting from a blacklist Best Regards, Scott M

Hello Michal,

Thank you for your question. The IP address that you listed above is not the correct mail IP for your server, and at this time is not blacklisted with spamhaus.

The correct mail IP for your server is also not blacklisted.

I checked your domain's DNS, and your email is handled exclusively by Google. When you point your 'MX record' to google, emails skip our servers and are handled directly by Google.

If you have a bounced or failed email and need assistance troubleshooting the problem, I recommend using the ticket portal in AMP to submit this for review.

If you have any further questions, feel free to post them below, or contact live Tech Support.
