How to auto assign users to a user group on registration?

I read your article on how to assign users to a newly created user group. Is there a way to automatically assign the new users to a group when the are registering,without doing it manually in the back end.

Hello dulakshi, Thank you for your question. Here is a link to a thread on Joomla's official support forum on How to set a default group to Author in Joomla. Once set, new users will be assigned to the group you specified. Older users would still have to be updated manually. You should be able to set to any User group in the same location.
