Should I upload my relational database to my website for all my employees to access, or just put it on my google drive?

Hello Safetystarswimmer, Thanks for the question. Your question is a little vague, though. What are you trying to accomplish by giving access to your database? Are you running an application that needs to run on your website? Do your employees run an application that can access the database locally on their own computer? Are you simply just trying to share the database file? Are your running an application that provides access to the database through the web? The relational database server for which you have access in a hosting solution with InMotion Hosting is MySQL. If you intend to share your database with your employees through the MySQL database solution, then your application would need to be able to access the database through MySQL. This solution works best if you're utilizing an application that will access the database through a web-based interface where the web-based application is being hosting on InMotion's hosting server(s). In simpler terms, you would need to have a website that accesses the database and then either displays the data or provides access to your users. Direct access to the database through the hosting interface is typically meant for one user - not multiple users. Or are you simply trying to share the database file with your employees? On the other hand, if your employees are going to be using an application that they are running on their local computer (e.g. Microsoft Access, FileMaker, etc.), then you will be better off simply sharing it through something like Google Drive. The web solution provided by InMotion Hosting is meant for serving website files, not as a file sharing server. So, if your intent is to distribute the file to many people, then by all means use Google Drive or other file sharing solution. I hope this helps to clarify your question and provide an informative answer! Please let us know if you still have any questions or if you need any further assistance. Regards, Arnel C.
