Wordpress "http error"

Hello,

I have a website that is powered by Wordpress, and up until recently, everything was running smoothly.

Now, when I upload any media (regardless of file size or type), I receive an "http error" and no media is saved in my Media Library.

I have tried various remedies like adding bits of code to my .htaccess file, or increasing the allowed memory with my wp-config.php file, and nothing has worked.

Any suggestions?

I would agree with Yooper, contact support and say that you are having this issue. Ask the support agent to have the "mod_security" uninstalled, and re installed immediately after. This will fix this particular error.

I 've just had a similar problem. I could not upload images to a NextGen Gallery or using WP media upload or zip file for a plugin. It took two days before a support staff person did something other than refer me to a web document. He said that he "changed some permissions" Whatever it was, it worked. If changing permissions gives you a clue as to what to do, go for it. Otherwise I'd insist that a support person take the HTTP error problem seriously and look at changing permissions. Hope this helps.

Try this solution from a poster in the official WordPress.org forums. This was the closest thing that I could find that resembled your description of the error.
