Can I easily make PrestaShop use ImageMagick instead of GD?

Is it just a simple task of 'turning ImageMagick on' to make it work in PrestaShop, or does the code really need to be changed to make PrestaShop use the ImageMagick functionality?

Heard that ImageMagick was faster and used less memory to convert, so was exploring this option.

Any code written would need to be adjusted to use ImageMagick, however, enabling any options within PrestaShop for it would adjust the code for you, thus you would only need to enable the ImageMagick options within PrestaShop to use it.
