Do domain registration & web hosting need to be with the same company?

I have my domain name registered with a company but am having second thoughts on using them for web hosting. Are there any problems if I have my domain registration with them and do web hosting with you for the website beaufortbeluga?

Hello and thanks for the great question. No there is no problem at all with having your domain name registered with one company and your domain hosted with another. The one that retains your domain registration would be referred to as your Registrar, and the one hosting your files would be the Web Host. You just need to make sure to update your domain's name servers to point to our service at the following addresses: 
ns.inmotionhosting.com  -  IP Address:  74.124.210.242
ns2.inmotionhosting.com -  IP Address:  70.39.150.2
After pointing your domain name at our hosting services, it could take between 4-24 hours for the DNS settings to propagate. But at that point when you type in your domain name in your web-browser, the files should pull from our server if you have a hosting account setup with us.
